NEW YORK – Keep your AA backup batteries handy. Put your household chores on hold. And get ready to give your TV remote a strenuous workout. With 70-plus full current and catch-up TV series, more than 2,300 movies and 60 participating networks (including their fall season TV premieres), the Verizon FiOS On Demand Fall Marathon will provide FiOS customers with an extraordinary array of viewing options. And they’re all free.

From Sept. 19-29, the Marathon will offer premium services and fall TV premieres. Additionally, multiscreen options enable you to view your choices at home or away.

The Fall Marathon builds on a successful track record from previous FiOS On Demand marathons. Over 29 percent of FiOS households participated in this year’s spring marathon, up from 15 percent in May 2013. The past three marathons have seen nearly 22 million transactions from more than 3.6 million unique users, and this fall’s marathon is expected to maintain that pace.

“Marathons give Verizon the opportunity to do two things – thank our FiOS customers for their loyalty and remind them that the FiOS On Demand platform offers a wide variety of entertainment options every day, with great value built in,” said Eric Velez, director of FiOS TV content strategy and acquisition.

Among the highlights of the Fall Marathon are:

  • Premium networks including HBO, Cinemax, Epix and STARZ.
  • Premium original programming including “The Leftovers,” “Outlander” and “The Knick.” Full TV season shows including “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Orphan Black” and “The Walking Dead.”
  • Spanish-language programming including “Mario Lopez One on One” and “Hasta el Fin del Mundo.”
  • Over 2,300 movies including titles such as “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “12 Years a Slave,” “Fast & Furious 6” and “The Hobbit.“ Sixty participating networks overall, including A&E, ABC Family, BBC America, Discovery, MTV, Univision and USA.

From Sept. 19-22, premium services will be highlighted. Then, starting on Sept. 23, the emphasis will shift to fall premieres. Other TV and movie options will be constant throughout the 10-day marathon.

Multiscreen viewing options will include compatible devices like tablets, smart phones and laptops, accessible via the FiOS Mobile App.
