With its affordable housing, quaint downtown area, and small-town atmosphere, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania is the quintessential bedroom community.

With close proximity to Pennsylvania’s state capital, the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Hershey Company’s global headquarters, Hummelstown has a lot to offer.  But what sets it apart is a cutting-edge, all-fiber-optic communications network serving the borough’s residents and businesses.

Verizon is nearing completion of a major network upgrade there, making Hummelstown Pennsylvania’s first “all fiber” town.  That means all residents and businesses will receive service over a 100 percent fiber-optic network and enjoy the many benefits fiber technology delivers.

"It gives us a great sense of pride having that investment and knowing how important telecom infrastructure is today and how much more it's going to be in the future. It just feels good to be ahead of that curve." -- Jamie Brubaker, Lawson Development and Construction Corp.

With Verizon’s fiber network, customers will have access to reliable telephone service, Verizon’s FiOS Internet service – with download and upload speeds of up to 500 megabits per second – and FiOS TV, with more than 160 high-definition channels and more than 95,000 video-on-demand titles.

The all-fiber network makes Hummelstown more attractive to potential residents looking for big-city amenities like super-fast Internet service and to new and expanding business that need the best communications infrastructure to compete and grow.  As consumers continue to connect more and more, Verizon’s network will ensure Hummelstown stays at the forefront of the digital age and the Internet economy.
