Security. Control.
And performance. -
Mobile edge computing (MEC) moves centralized cloud processing power to cloud edge servers close to where data is generated and consumed. Verizon’s private MEC is an end-to-end solution that lets you deploy fully managed, on-premises cloud computing and storage—for enhanced security and lowest available latency.

How are public and
private MEC different? -
Public MEC places cloud computing and storage resources at the edge of the public network. Private MEC places those resources directly into the customer’s environment for enhanced security and control.

Public MEC
With public MEC, cellular-enabled devices connect over the public 5G or LTE network. This provides broad geographic cloud-computing coverage when public access is needed, and can substantially reduce app latency over traditional cloud-computing architecture.
Private MEC
Private MEC provides full control over your compute and communications stack. Data from wireless on-premises devices is transmitted via an On Site 5G or LTE network, then actioned and can be stored on premises. A custom-designed network and apps can drive latency to extremely low levels.
