  •

    Overview:

Designed for small and medium business applications requiring reliable GbE services, Ciena’s 3903 Service Delivery Switch is an advanced Ethernet business demarcation platform in a compact form factor.

    Reliability and Performance:

The 3903 includes Ciena’s performance test hardware engine to provide RFC2544 and Y.1564 benchmark performance test capabilities, enabling full line-rate, customer traffic measurements end to end across the Ethernet Virtual Circuit (EVC). Performance testing also improves end-customer satisfaction by enabling the Network Operations Center (NOC) to be very responsive to SLA impacts and increasing the performance metrics available for end-customer SLA reporting.

  • Overture 1400

  •

    Overview:

The Overture 1400 is a modular 1 gigabit Carrier Ethernet edge platform that enables ubiquitous Ethernet services from 1Mbps to 1Gbps over both native Ethernet and the existing TDM infrastructure. For native optical Ethernet networks, the Overture 1400 provides a complete edge solution with six tri-speed interfaces. When native optical Ethernet is not available, the flexible network interface slot may be used for Carrier Ethernet over existing SONET/SDH and PDH (DS3/E3, DS1, E1) networks. The Overture 1400 provides a complete toolkit for service differentiation and performance assurance along with the operational savings that comes from a single flexible platform.

The Overture 1400 GigE Carrier Ethernet edge platform was developed in conjunction with leading service providers and is unique in three fundamental areas:

    Reliability and Performance:

Carrier class means 99.999% availability, sub-50ms protection switching, and low-latency line-rate throughput on every interface. The compact, temperature-hardened Overture 1400 is designed for the demanding environments of the telco central office, outside plant cabinet, datacenter or enterprise wiring closet. In addition, the 1400 provides the resiliency and monitoring features required for high-performance financial services and data center applications.

  • Cisco ME 1200

  •

    Overview:

The Cisco ME 1200 Series Ethernet Access Device provides all the features required for MEF 2.0 service initiation, including services such as ELINE, ELAN, and EACCESS. To help maintain proper QoS for these services, the Cisco ME 1200 Series offers rich traffic classification and hierarchical QoS for per-port per services. To help ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are enforced, ingress traffic policing and egress shaping are also supported.

    Reliability and Performance:

As more advanced network services move into the cloud or data center, there is a need for a device with a low port density with carrier grade Ethernet, advanced QoS, and performance measurement capabilities. With low latency and OAM performed in hardware, the Cisco ME 1200 Series Ethernet Access Device resides close to the customer, providing service assurance while network services are remote in the data center.
