Resumen
TeleWorking Services (TWS) enables geographically dispersed agency staff to perform officially assigned job duties through the use of electronically supported communications and collaboration capabilities. TWS enables remote communications to agency systems and applications from teleworking locations.
Verizon has teamed with Comtech to provide teleworking services. Comtech is a leading provider to the federal government, having delivered TWS to approximately 12,000 customers at GSA.
Benefits
In addition to managing networks for large companies and government agencies, our TWS team has experience managing and securing an international carrier-class ATM network across a dozen countries with more than 60,000 attached devices. This team offers TWS tools that help individuals and groups share information and communicate online and in real-time, in a cost effective and productive way. Verizon will work closely with our federal customers to determine specific needs in light of connectivity options available to teleworkers.
Características
Key features of our TWS solution include:
- Design and Engineering. Verizon Enterprise Solutions Engineers will evaluate and provide customized solutions to meet the agency TWS requirements. Verizon designs will be in accordance with the agency security polices and will interoperate with agency firewalls and security layers. The Verizon team will also implement the custom solution for the agency.
- Fully Managed Services. Verizon provides secure, end-user network access and connectivity by coordinating with broadband providers and other suppliers of TWS capabilities. We provide installation and post installation support for all aspects of the selected TWS service, serving as a single point of contact for the end user. Verizon engineers have a clear understanding of GSA’s technical departments and systems, and are responsible for training LAN help desk teams in numerous federal agencies in day-to-day VPN user support. Our engineers are available to resolve application and network connectivity problems.
- Interoperable Solutions. Our TWS will interoperate with agency firewalls and security layers. Verizon verifies that all systems are interoperable. Our development lab (D-Lab) service offers customers the opportunity to test hardware and software on our live network before purchase and implementation. In addition to testing existing products, services and associated equipment, D-Lab can help test new equipment and technologies. D-Lab supports frame relay; ATM; FRASI; analog; ISDN-PRI; NxT1; Internet services; voice, video, and data applications; and voice over frame.
- Secure Networking. Verizon utilizes multiple technologies to protect the TWS endpoint, including multiple IP security and intrusion detection systems, firewall and filtering layers that protect customer networks. We offer a range of IP VPN remote services to enable customers to find a match for secure mobility. Our solution includes both IPSEC and SSL technologies along with options for premise-based or network-based solutions. We use network address translation, private addressing, and port forwarding to further protect end points. We have extensive experience with implementing personal firewall technology, as well as many industry-leading security packages (e.g. Checkpoint, Sygate, and ISS).
- Continuity in the Event of Disaster. Verizon has developed a comprehensive disaster recovery plan that can be implemented during emergencies, and is based on a self-healing architecture that automatically routes around service-affected areas. Connectivity is rooted in vast and redundant digital and fiber optic networks. Our call routing system is located in geographically diverse data centers in an interlocking grid to manage our switches. In case of emergency, one data center can assume the control function of another. We use uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) on all mission-critical systems combined with battery and generator backup for our network switches.
