Voice Priority
Wireless Priority Service (WPS) provides the emergency preparedness and national security community with priority cellular communications when excessive call volumes exist. During rare instances of network congestion, WPS users have a greater chance of call completion on an operational cellular network than those without the service.
How does WPS work?
It’s easy. WPS always provides priority access to the LTE radio access network (RAN). The WPS over VoLTE call will be processed with enhanced end-to-end priority on the Verizon network.
Am I eligible?
WPS supports federal, state, local, tribal and territorial governments, public safety and emergency responders; industry partners who are responsible for maintaining the Nation’s critical infrastructure; and other authorized users. Please refer to https://www.dhs.gov/cisa/wireless-priority-service-wps for more details. How do I enroll?
- The first step in the enrollment process is to identify the Point of Contact (POC) for your organization. Many organizations already have established POCs who facilitate the enrollment process. To determine or establish a POC and enroll in WPS, please contact the CISA Priority Telecommunications Service Center at (866) 627-2255, email support@priority-info.com, or visit https://www.cisa.gov/wps
- Once mobile device(s) are enrolled, the single point of contact (SPOC) on your account will receive an email advising that the feature has been added to the specific mobile number(s) and ask for a reply to the email to approve or deny the request to add the WPS feature as indicated.
