    • Service speed guidelines

Downlink Bandwidth when using 5G +
    • For the Business Internet service you should consider the following guidelines to ensure proper usage to meet your organization’s needs.
      • 5G Business Internet is an ‘up to’ bandwidth service. The maximum bandwidth allowed will be associated with the speed tier selected for your service (e.g., 400 Mbps). There is no minimum bandwidth level. Consult with your Verizon Account Manager about your specific use cases to ensure appropriate speed tier selection.
      • Any customer owned networking equipment residing within the router’s Local Area Network must have networking physical interfaces capable of supporting the subscribed services downlink speeds.  Customer networking devices should, at a minimum, support 1 Gigabit Ethernet to accommodate internet speeds in excess of 100 Mbps.
      • Latency: We suggest consulting your Verizon Account Manager for the latest information on end-to-end latency.
Downlink Bandwidth when using 4G LTE fallback +
      • If 5G access is not available, 5G Business Internet will automatically provide access to Verizon’s 4G LTE network to continue support of data traffic. When in 4G mode, the following guidelines are suggested:
      • Downlink bandwidth: up to 70 Mbps
      • The 4G LTE fallback will automatically revert back to 5G when it becomes available.
Downlink Bandwidth when using 4G LTE primary +
      • LTE Business Internet is an ‘up to’ bandwidth service. The maximum bandwidth allowed will be associated with the speed tier selected for your service (e.g., 50 Mbps) with varying “premium data” allowances. There is no minimum bandwidth level. Consult with your Verizon Account Manager about your specific use cases to ensure appropriate speed tier selection.
    • Enhancing Your Service

      • The 5G Business Internet Service Speed Tiers include 100, 200, 400 Mbps (where available) download
      • LTE Business Internet Service Speed Tiers include 10, 25, 50 Mbps download (with varying “premium data” allowances)
      • Customers can change their Business Internet service at any time (e.g., upgrade or downgrade a speed tier if available) plans will be prorated automatically for any month’s applicable service fee (and data allotment for LTE BI plans).
      • Please contact your Account Manager or the BGCO at 1-800-922-0204 if you would like to upgrade your current plans to higher tiered plans or add any of these services to your Business Internet.

Does Business Internet require equipment? +

Yes, all connections require hardware with a LTE or 5G chipset. We offer both professional installation, a plug-and-play (self-setup) solutions for Business Internet, or alternatively, customers may bring their own compatible device, all 3 scenarios are dependent on availability in select markets and speed tiers.

How should I prepare for Business Internet installation? +

Whether you choose professional installation or self-setup, it’s simple and hassle-free for your business.

If you choose professional installation (5G only), here are a few tips to help you prepare:

If you choose self-setup (LTE and 5G), here are a few tips to help you prepare:

If you choose to bring your own compatible device, here are a few tips to help you prepare:

    • Check the service qualification for the address & work with your sales rep to identify a compatible device.

Note: For a list of compatible third-party devices, click here

    • Obtain a device/SIM compatible with the Verizon Network (note IMEI and ICCID for ordering process).
    4G vs. 5G: What's the difference? +

Generally, 5G networks perform with higher speeds, greater capacity, lower latency (the time it takes for information to travel between two endpoints and back) and lower jitter (the variation in time it takes for data to travel across the network) than legacy 4G networks but there are tradeoffs. The mid and high frequency bands–used for 5G Business Internet–have lower propagation characteristics so the radio waves don’t travel as far. Conversely, low frequency bands–used for LTE Business Internet–have higher propagation characteristics, so radio waves can travel farther and through obstacles, but at slower speeds.

How does Verizon Business Internet position my organization for the future? +

We have a broad range of solutions and partnerships in place designed specifically to bring inherent benefit to our customers that choose to trust us with their business, which is why so many successful Fortune 500 companies and public sector organizations partner with Verizon.

Does my Local Area Network (LAN) configuration impact the service? +

You are responsible for your LAN configuration which should support the bandwidth option you selected for the service and connecting your downstream equipment to the gateway.

For example, if the devices and their applications residing within the LAN are set for lower bandwidth than what was purchased for your Business Internet speed tier, they will perform at that specific speed and not the speed tier purchased for the Business Internet.

Services and/or features are not available in all countries/locations, and may be procured from in-country providers in select countries. We continue to expand our service availability around the world. Please consult your Verizon representative for service availability. Contact us.
