This Acceptable Use Policy for the Peoples Republic of China (this Policy) specifies the actions prohibited by Verizon, dba Verizon Services (Verizon) to users who access the Verizon IP Network in the Peoples Republic of China. Verizon reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time, effective upon posting of the modified Policy to this URL: http://www.verizonenterprise.com/terms/asiapac/cn/aup/ or other notice to customer.
Illegal use
The Verizon IP Network may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws. It also includes material and content the publication or transmission of which is prohibited by Chinese laws and regulations, such as:
The Verizon IP Network may not be used in perpetrating fraud, teaching methods for committing crimes, producing or selling prohibited or controlled items, carrying out other unlawful activities under Chinese laws and regulations, or publishing any information that relates to the foregoing unlawful activities.
The Verizon IP Network may not be used for providing telecommunication services without required telecommunication licenses under Chinese law.
In the event that the Verizon IP Network is used in a manner that Verizon considers to be in breach of the foregoing requirements, then Verizon may disable access to the Verizon IP Network or terminate the relevant transmissions. In relation to any suspected illegality, Verizon may report such use to competent law enforcement agencies. Verizons reporting may include disclosure of user information, and network and systems information related to the suspected illegality.
System and network security
Violations of system or network security are prohibited, and may result in criminal and civil liability. Verizon will investigate incidents involving such violations and may involve and will cooperate with law enforcement if a criminal violation is suspected. Examples of system or network security violations include, without limitation, the following:

Sending unsolicited mail messages, including, without limitation, commercial advertising and informational announcements, is explicitly prohibited. A user shall not use another site's mail server to relay mail without the express permission of the site.
Usenet
Posting the same or similar message to one or more newsgroups (excessive cross-posting or multiple-posting) is explicitly prohibited.
INDIRECT OR ATTEMPTED VIOLATIONS OF THIS POLICY, AND ACTUAL OR ATTEMPTED VIOLATIONS BY A THIRD PARTY ON BEHALF OF A VERIZON CUSTOMER OR A CUSTOMER'S END USER, SHALL BE CONSIDERED VIOLATIONS OF THIS POLICY BY SUCH CUSTOMER OR END USER.
