It’s two days before landfall and I’m headed south as part of the Verizon Crisis Response team.

We’ve got 18 mobile cell sites and over 100 generators on the way.

We’re also trucking in thousands of gallons of fuel to keep everything up and running even if local power and fuel are compromised.

Heading into the storm before it hits means that when the storm passes, we don’t have to navigate washed out roads or bridges or downed infrastructure, we’re already there, on site, working with first responders.

And that’s a huge difference, because in those times, a call to a loved oneto tell them you’re ok, might be the most important call in the world.
