Two years ago, V Teamer Neha Luthra, from the Supply Chain Strategy and Transformation team, received life-changing news. She had breast cancer.

It all began with a self-exam prompted by a friend’s recent cancer diagnosis. Although her doctor reassured her that everything seemed normal, Neha couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. Trusting her instincts, she pushed for further tests, and that’s when her diagnosis was confirmed.

The news was overwhelming. Neha found herself grappling with questions and fears about what the future might hold. The road ahead was filled with uncertainty, but she wasn’t alone. Verizon’s health coverage meant that, even though her treatment costs exceeded $1 million, she only paid up to her out-of-pocket maximum, easing a huge financial burden.

In addition, Verizon’s wellness resources — access to nutritionists, therapy and a wellness coach — helped her manage the physical and emotional challenges. And the annual wig allowance gave her a sense of normalcy and confidence during some of her hardest days.

Neha looks back on her breast cancer journey with gratitude for the strength she found and the support she received. Through it all, she learned the importance of trusting her instincts. Her advice: “Take care of yourself and know that you’re stronger than you think.”
