🏃Lightning-fast runners – and speeds – in Boston
The Boston Marathon runners won’t be the only ones that will be running fast next Tuesday. Our Test Force is hard at work prepping the route to ensure the thousands of runners and spectators are connected for those special mid-race check-ins and end-of-race moments.
We got a glimpse of network engineer Pierre Kettere, who showed us what’s known as a “mini cell site.” Pierre noted that the spread-out marathon route means that the team on the ground is working to “provide extra capacity and make sure everybody has cell service.”
Shoutout to Pierre and our Test Force, as well as V Teamers Paul Sullivan and Katrina Pelican, who will be running in the race.
Be sure to tune in next Tuesday where we’ll show our V Team runners and more on how we showed up at the race.

🏒 Upping the ante at Prudential Center
And whether it’s running or hockey, we know how important it is to stay connected during games and live events. Verizon has partnered with the New Jersey Devils and the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, in a multi-year extension that will bring new and innovative technology to enhance the fan experience and improve arena operations.
The power of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband, Private 5G Network and Wi-Fi 6/6E will transform the way fans experience games and live events through the Devils and Prudential Center Mobile App, Powered by Verizon.
These improvements will expand on our existing enhancements, including our successful Verizon Private 5G Wireless Network pilot enabling the use of transformative business solutions such as wireless officials’ iPads for replay review, video coaching and additional communications.
The proof is in the pudding: Raquel showed a quick “speed check” from a reporter who toured the arena after our improvements were made, and there’s no denying these improvements are making a big impact.
