The convergence of two iconic events - the Miami Grand Prix and the Kentucky Derby - created a whirlwind of excitement amongst consumers who shared in the action, connecting with friends at the events, watching highlights and posting on social media.
At the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, Verizon customers used 39.2 TB of data over the three-day event, the equivalent of 8,816 full length feature movies at 720 pixels. With 275,000 fans attending the three-day event, nearly 45 percent of devices were connected to Verizon’s network to share their racing experiences.
And at the Kentucky Derby, with nearly 157,000 fans in attendance, more than 33 percent of devices were connected to Verizon’s network. Verizon customers used 14.7TB of data at the Derby on Saturday, an increase from 12.8TB last year.
