Shankar Arumugavelu
Executive Vice President and President of Verizon Global Services
As Executive Vice President and President of Verizon Global Services, Shankar leads the company’s central support services operations and is responsible for the shared services teams within Verizon, including information technology, digital, data, analytics and AI, real estate, sourcing, supply chain and fleet operations.
Shankar is a globally recognized technology leader and has received recognition from business and industry groups, including Forbes CIO Next honoree, Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader and Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business.
Prior to Verizon Global Services, Shankar served as Chief Digital and Information Officer at Verizon, with global responsibility for information technology, digital, data, analytics and AI, and led the digital transformation across the company to scale the business and drive profitable revenue growth. He has also held a number of other senior management roles at the company.
Corporate and charitable leadership
Shankar serves on the board of directors of the TM Forum, a leading global alliance for digital service providers and suppliers in the communications industry. He also serves on the board of directors of Seagate Technology plc, a leader in data storage and infrastructure solutions.
Personal and educational background
Shankar holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, Anna University. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughter, and in his free time enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
