To tackle the NFL’s critical need for precise, interference-free communication, Verizon proposed a private cellular solution that consisted of a custom-built mobile tech cart, beltpack, and headset. This bespoke communication platform enhanced privacy and ensured that coaches on the sidelines could converse without interruptions from other stadium networks.

To demonstrate its capability, Verizon first ran stress tests at the NFL’s 2022 International Games in London, Munich, and Mexico City. Verizon’s designers, engineers, and project managers ran design and configuration tests in the Verizon Innovation Lab to create a playbook of solutions, customized to address the unique needs of each venue.

Thanks to the thorough upfront testing and the finalized design and configuration, implementing the solution in 30 stadiums across the country was a seamless task, marking a successful deployment.

This marked a significant milestone in the collaboration between Verizon and the NFL.

The coach-to-coach solution ensures reliable communication, showcasing the NFL and Verizon’s shared commitment to enhancing the in-stadium experience. This rollout marked a significant milestone in our longstanding partnership, which encompasses investments in local teams and venues.
