Yes, Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure is water-resistant. Here's some context you might find helpful: The IP68 rating Gizmo Watch 3 means the watch can be submerged in shallow water for up to an hour. It's good for, say, washing hands, getting caught in the rain and such. However, being overly cautious, we don't recommend using it while swimming, and avoid exposing it to high-pressure water spray, for example at a water park, or from a hose, or from jumping into the pool.

Gizmo watches must be activated on a Verizon account. It's ok if the parents' phone plans are on T-Mobile. They can have a Verizon account for just the Gizmo watch and then download the GizmoHub app to their smartphones. GizmoHub lets you communicate with, locate, and manage the watch, including adding additional trusted contacts.

Gizmo does need to be activated on a Verizon account. If you have your smartphone service with another carrier, that's ok. You can have the Gizmo as the only device on your Verizon account and install the GizmoHub app on your smartphone, regardless of the carrier. Parents use GizmoHub to manage, locate and communicate with their child's Gizmo watch.
