Apple Watch Upgrade and Exchange Experience
After you have received an upgraded or replacement Apple Watch device, you'll need to unpair the previous watch from your iPhone and activate the new one.
To complete this process you'll need your charged replacement Apple Watch and your Apple ID and My Verizon login usernames and passwords.
Open the Apple Watch application on your iPhone and Tap the Apple Watch name.
Tap the "i" next to the watch description then select Unpair Apple Watch.
Start the unpairing by selecting Unpair Verizon's Apple Watch in the popup menu.
Next you'll be asked what to do with your plan, you'll need to select Remove Plan.
Enter your Apple ID when prompted, so the watch can be removed from your Apple account.
Now your watch and iPhone will start unpairing and the watch will reset. This will take several minutes to complete.
When the process is complete you'll be done with the previous watch.
Turn on your replacement Apple Watch and when ready you'll be prompted to bring your iPhone near your Apple Watch. At this point you'll tap Pair New Watch and start following the on screen steps.
Start by centering the image of the watch on your iPhone, which will pair the two together.
Next you'll have the option to restore your watch from backup or set it up as a new Apple Watch.
Select which side you'll wear your watch.
Now you can read the terms and conditions and select Agree when ready. You'll have to confirm by pressing Agree again.
Important information about your shared settings will display, when ready tap OK.
You'll then have the option to create a passcode.
The Emergency SOS screen displays how to make an emergency call from your watch. Press Continue when you're ready.
Now it's time to get the Apple Watch activated on your Verizon service.
Select Set Up Cellular and when prompted sign into your My Verizon Mobile account.
Now you'll need to select Replace an existing device, this way your previous Apple Watch will be removed from your Verizon account. Confirm the watch you're replacing and tap Replace.
You'll need to provide an address for emergency services. You can enter a new address or keep the "Use previously saved address" option checked and press Continue.
Tap OK when the screen says the device has been replaced. The Apple Watch app will confirm cellular is ready. Tap Continue.
Next, you'll be able to choose to Install All available Apple Watch Apps or select Choose Later to skip this step.
Now your Apple watch and iPhone will sync their settings. It can take several minutes to complete, depending on how many apps and settings need to be synced. You may also be prompted to update carrier settings, if so tap Update to continue.
The next prompt will inform you that your phone number and Apple ID will be used for iMessage and Facetime on your Apple Watch, press OK to continue.
The syncing is almost done at this point. After some time the Apple Watch will show it is now ready and you'll receive a welcome screen in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone.
Press OK in the app
And press the crown on the watch to complete your activation.
