Theft Protection

Theft Protection is a multi-layered feature suite that protects you from the impact of phone theft before, during and after the theft occurs. Includes:

• On by default:
  • Revamped Factory Reset Protection that makes it hard to reset and resell a stolen device.
  • Adaptive Auth locks your screen when there are excessive, consecutive authentication failures during one screen unlocked session.
• Opt-in:
  • Theft Protection: Automatic AI-powered screen lock if your phone is snatched.
  • Remote Lock: Using a verified phone number for quick remediation after the phone has been taken.
  • Offline Lock: Senses when a device is taken offline for a prolonged period of time and locks the screen to prevent local abuse while remote remediation isn't possible.

Available on (GMS 10+) Pixel 6+ for GMSCore features.

Astrophotography

Introducing an upgraded Astrophotography experience for P6+ devices. Now you can capture stunning star photos effortlessly, even without a tripod.

To enable:

1. Go to a dark area.
2. Open the Camera app.
3. Tap Night Sight.
4. Prop the device on a stable surface.
5. When the device is still, the shutter will change to Astrophotography mode.
6. Tap Shutter.
7. Wait for the device to finish taking the photo.

Audio Magic Eraser

Not only can you reduce the distracting sounds, but now you can turn up the sounds you want to hear more clearly, like a specific person speaking softly.

Already available on Pixel 9, 9 Pro and Fold 2. Now available on Pixel 8, 8 Pro, 8a.

Object Temperature Sensor

Object temperature sensing with your Pixel Pro is now easier and more intuitive with integration of the camera as a viewfinder, live reading capability, and the ability to capture and save measurements to your recent results. For improved accuracy, selecting the correct emissivity is now more accessible with Routine measurement functionality and improved material selection.

AI Summaries

Widget Discovery

High-quality widgets are now easily discovered and added to Pixel devices from an updated widget picker interface.

Notification Dismissal Sync

If you dismiss a notification on the Pixel phone, the same notification will be dismissed on your Pixel tablet, and vice versa. Synchronization occurs over Wi-Fi and must be enabled on participating devices.

Adaptive Vibration

Automatically adjust your phone's vibration based on your environment. Adaptive vibration uses your phone's microphone and other sensors to determine sound levels and context. It automatically adjusts the vibration intensity of ringtone, notifications and alerts to optimal levels.
