KYOCERA DuraForce PRO 3 Software Update
Verizon is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues, apply the latest security patches and, when available, deliver new features.
Before you download:
- Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, or make sure it has a strong Verizon wireless network connection.
- Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update.
System Update 6
The details:
Release date: 11/11/2024
Android Security Patch Level: September 2024
Software Version: 3.060VZ
What's changing:
The current software update provides the most up to date Android security patch and addresses the following issues:
- Under certain conditions, callers were prevented from returning to IMS.
- Devices with many apps installed (300) took about 2 minutes to start up.
- Phone book editing was restricted under certain conditions.
- Google Chrome crashed when playing a YouTube video in picture-in-picture mode.
- Unsupported features seen when performing a search operation in settings.
- Contacts app would occasionally crash after a contact was selected.
- When QR Code scanner wasn't set in Quick Settings, it couldn't be launched using the shortcut on the Start screen.
- Require notification permission settings weren't working properly.
- Some items under Battery Saver do not appear in the search results when searching the Settings app.
- When accessing the Quick Settings panel from the Start screen, a blank page would appear after the screen was unlocked and the page was frozen.
- Unsupported Hearing aid shortcut would appear in the settings under certain conditions.
- Characters other than ASCII codes couldn't be entered when setting a password.
- VVM app couldn't register notifications for new message under certain conditions.
- Silent notifications sometimes wouldn't display on the lock screen, regardless of the Settings.
- When PSIM wasn't activated and ESIM was activated, the video call icon appeared black and video calls were not permitted.

What's changing:
The current software update provides the most up to date Android security patches, added USB headset for PTT function, and addressed the following performance issues:
- Calling issues occurred between Verizon devices and another carrier.
- The device couldn't connect to a specific Wi-Fi AP before the device was unlocked.
- Under certain conditions in Pocket Mode, the screen saver wouldn't start and/or the screen would take a long time to light up.
- "Lift to wake" wasn't shown in settings search results.
- There was no "Face Unlock" option when searching for "Lift to wake" in settings.
- Face unlock didn't work when opening the Personal Safety option.
- To prevent low-temperature burns, CPU processing power was reduced based on the device's internal temperature. This reduction sometimes led to insufficient CPU power when launching the camera app, causing the preview to lag.
- Various display issues relating to input fields being cut off, and icons and text being too large.
- The phone app would crash when performing operations like rotating the screen during a call.
- Screen display may become slow under certain conditions (i.e., when playing a high quality video on certain apps).
- When taking a picture with "All files access" set to Off, an error dialog displayed and the camera failed to take a picture.
- The wrong message was displayed to enter the SIM PIN when the device was restarted with the SIM lock on.
