Samsung Galaxy Note8 - Use Smart Select to Crop and Save Images

Sometimes you may take a photo but only want to save a certain area. Well that's where Smart Select on your Samsung Note8 comes in handy.

Sometimes you may take a photo but only want to save a certain area. Well that's where Smart Select on your Samsung Note8 comes in handy.

First just find the photo that you want to edit. It can be from your gallery, or the web or any other image on your Note8.
Now remove the S-Pen. This will pull up the Air Command menu.
Next, choose Smart Select.
From here you could draw a shape around your image, but we're going to use the Lasso tool for a specific selection.
Once drawn, you can use Auto Select for a more uniform cutout.
If it's not exactly what you want you can tap Add to include more or Remove to cut out sections you don't want included.
When you are ready, just tap Save.
From the home screen, pull down the notification panel and tap the notification to see your end result in the gallery.
Just another way your S-Pen can create truly unique photos.
