John Stratton, president of Verizon’s Global Enterprise and Consumer Wireline business, has named George Fischer president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions (VES). Fischer previously lead the VES Global Sales organization, responsible for driving customer growth and increasing revenue through Verizon’s direct and indirect enterprise distribution channels worldwide.
Fischer is responsible for delivering business solutions to Verizon’s global enterprise clients in key industries: healthcare and insurance; financial services; technology; manufacturing and automotive; transportation and distribution; retail; energy and utilities; and the public sector. He leads a team driving sales, operations and marketing focused on strategic solutions in: networking, IT infrastructure, business communications, security and professional services.

Most recently, Fischer served as senior vice president of global sales for VES, leading 2,100 sales professionals in 50-plus countries. In this role, he established customer, segment and product profitability cross-sell strategies, implemented modern sales forecasting and opportunity management processes and drove five quarters of new customer bookings growth. Additionally, Fischer created an integrity council and code of conduct guidelines for all sales and field operations.

Fischer has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in global sales, service, operations and management. Prior to joining Verizon, he was executive vice president of worldwide sales and services at CA, Inc. overseeing a $4.4 billion business and a team of 4,700 people in 62 countries. He led the transformation of CA’s sales organization through various business models, delivery platforms and the integration of several acquisitions.
Fischer will replace VES president, Chris Formant, who recently announced his retirement at the end of the year.
